Chase Bank needs new form letters

Chase Bank reduced my line of credit from $10,000 to $2,500 without telling me. I sent Chase an email requesting that they raise my limit back to $5,000. I mentioned that there was a problem with my credit report and I was disputing it.

Chase wrote back the next day that they turned me down and I would get a letter within 10 days explaining it. They also said I could call a number for further infomation.

I called the number and explained that it seemed absurd to me that I had $68,500 of credit on three credit cards with them but they wouldn't raise my credit line back to $5,000. The lady asked me to hold for a minute and came back on the line and said that they were raising my credit line to $5,000.

Today, I got the letter in the mail from Chase and it says "Your request for a credit-line increase was given thoughtful consideration by Chase Bank USA, N.A."

Now, my question is: How thoughtful could the consideration have been if all I needed to do was to call and say "Please"?
