Satellite maps that show my apartment building

Google maps shows my apartment building as an empty lot. While I have often said I would live in a cardboard box before I give up my cable internet connection. If you know where I live, Google shows an empty lot. Trust me, things are not that bad for me right now! I am not living in an empty lot!

If you click on this link you will get to see my apartment! My apartment on you will find that my apartment building exists.

ScottStreet Penthouse

Well it is official. After spending more than 14 years living either a block north of, or a block south of Scott Street I am finally moving there. I will have a one room apartment on the south side of Scott Street across from the First American Bank building where the M&I Bank is.

Interestingly enough, I officially move in the first day the Scott Street Steak and Pub will be closed forever.

My address will remain the same-PO Box 6095, Wausau, WI 54402

With much more spare time on my hand I should be able to contribte more to this site

An anology for politics

A little boy goes to his dad and asks, "What is Politics?"

Dad says, "Well son, let me try to explain it this way:

I am the head of the family, so call me The President.

Your mother is the administrator of the money, so we call her The Government.

We are here to take care of your needs, so we will call you The People.

The nanny, we will consider her The Working Class.

And your baby brother, we will call him The Future.

Now think about that and see if it makes sense. (Click read more for the boy's thoughts.)

where does this go?

I wish I understood where these posts go

Write your Senators to make sure we save some face in Iraq.

This story from Reuters reminds me I have to write my Senators this week.

I may well be a coward, but watching us spend $2 billion a week and losing all those young soldiers is a different meaning of cowardice.

Ben Hecht Obituary

Click this Ben Hecht's entry on The day he died was the day I was born. I have heard it was even in the same hospital. I am no Ben Hecht, I am no Ben Hecht, I never knew Ben, but I know I am no Ben.

Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" was filming in Teaneck, NJ

Here is the direct link Cedar Lane spot
"[I know some of you think the daily show is stupid but i hope you saw last nights maybe the clip is available at it sure will be repeated on comedy central

anyway the sketch in the middle of the show, while otherwise silly, took place on Cedar Lane. the Cameras were just west of chestnut, on the south side of the lane you can clearly see Veggie Heaven and the reporter even comments "wow, Miller Pharmacy closed"

thought you might find it interesting]"

I became curious when I saw the NJ Transit bus. I saw Rocklin's. When he said "Miller's Pharmacy closed down" I wondered if I went to Teaneck

Christmas in the Trenches

I just posted something on SoJo.Net
Worried that the NSA might find something posted on the web without posting here, I submit my favorite Christmas Carol

What I posted was a comment on this carol at

Christmas in the Trenches by John McCutcheon

My name is Francis Tolliver, I come from Liverpool.
Two years ago the war was waiting for me after school.
To Belgium and to Flanders, to Germany to here
I fought for King and country I love dear.
'Twas Christmas in the trenches, where the frost so bitter hung,
The frozen fields of France were still, no Christmas song was sung
Our families back in England were toasting us that day
Their brave and glorious lads so far away.

I was lying with my messmate on the cold and rocky ground

Not only is this Alice's choice for a good poem. I think IF my family would post something here, that would be great.

So while some learned from a tech journal, I learned it from my Mom. And that is cool.

This is just a song's lyrics. I have a lot in common with.

Lyle Lovett's Baltimore

The point is while things are difficult, I have my family. I love making points that they ask me what my point is. It shows they care.

Trip to Mom's to help her out

Phase I was OK. I have never seen her is so much pain. Yet, I had to help her the way she wanted to be helped. Her life maintenance routines are quite different from mine.
Within the first few hours we fought. How do you make coffee? Coffee is very important to both of us. She has a very specific way of making coffee that I needed to follow. I didn't.
I had coffee in the Boundary Waters Recreation Area the was nothing but coffee grounds thrown into boiling water. No filter between the water and coffee except when it hit your teeth. Your teeth were only a grate that kept the big chunks from going down.
So, maybe I had too much confidence in my coffee making experience. Let it be noted we made coffee the way she wanted. I did not want to see her cry in the first few minutes I arrived. Yet, the basic process of making coffee is the same. You fill a reservoir with water. You hopefully have a filter that fits the machine. You have coffee ground and a way to measure it. Put the decanter under the filter. Finally, you press the start button.

When you talk about Dylan, you mean Dylan Thomas, who ever he was.

Do not go gentle into that good night

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieve it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

I can't figure out how to post

hello everyone

I just burned my ring finger on right hand

350 degrees Fahrenheit is hot.  While baking a pecan pie tonight, I accidentally touched the baking sheet with my ring finger on my right hand.  I am OK.   Yet, I still can't deal with pain.

    are 20 of them!

  3. Why is a blond's lunch box
